Services

  • We offer in home visits in the greater Boston area (within 45 minutes of Brookline, MA.) Initial visits are typically 1.5 hours and 1-1.5 hours for follow ups. We will assess your baby’s feeding, including a weighted feed and will work on a plan to improve any challenges you are facing in a way that works for YOU. Appointments with Margo will also include gentle craniosacral therapy to release tension and support your efforts to improve your baby’s feeding.

  • I do all prenatal consults virtually, I also use virtual consults for follow ups or if you are out of the Boston area we can work together entirely virtually. We will work on a plan to improve any challenges you are facing in a way that works for YOU.

  • We accept several major insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Mass General Brigham. Most often, there will be no out of pocket charge to you. More information is available below, and please reach out if you have any questions about payment and I can give you individual details.

We never want someone to go without support, so if you are worried about paying for lactation support please reach out to discuss options.

More info on payment and insurance

Please find information below to help understand the complexities of insurance payment for lactation services. My goal is for cost to not be a barrier to getting care. Note that I typically submit a claim for both the breastfeeding parent and the baby. If the breastfeeding parent and baby are on different plans, payment will be handled on a case by case basis—please contact for more information.

Aetna

I am in network with Aetna. Usually home, office and virtual visits will be fully covered, however Aetna may assign a copay or coinsurance payment, typically $10-20. I am required by my contract with Aetna to send you an invoice for this amount.

BCBS/Anthem

BCBS of Massachusetts is very good about reimbursing in full for lactation appointments. Their policy is to reimburse the member directly, so I will send you an invoice to pay me, and then a superbill to submit for full reimbursement.

Out of state BCBS plans or Anthem plans: you will have to check with your own plan to determine their reimbursement. Payment will be due to me at the time of the appointment and I will give you a superbill to submit for reimbursement. For reference when you call, I use CPT code S9443.

Cigna

I am in network with all Cigna plans. I use Wildflower Health for eligibility and claims processing. Check your eligibility instantly here.

Harvard Pilgrim

Harvard Pilgrim is very good about reimbursing in full for lactation appointments. Their policy is to reimburse the member directly, so I will send you an invoice to pay me, and then a superbill to submit for full reimbursement.

Mass General Brigham

I am in network with Mass General Brigham. They fully cover all lactation appointments with no cost to you.

Tricare

I am a certified provider for Tricare. I submit all claims on your behalf, and do not charge any fee to you.

UnitedHealthcare

I am in network with almost all UnitedHealthcare plans. They almost always fully cover all lactation appointments with no cost to you.

If you have a plan that is not listed here, please feel free to reach out.
